Tracey’s practice is primarily focused in the areas of clinical negligence and personal injury. She also has a keen interest in family law. Tracey’s legal skills are augmented by practical experience of working in the medical profession, providing her with a strong base of knowledge of medical practice and considerable insight into the issues arising in medical matters.
Before turning to law, Tracey was a registered general nurse working in both medical and surgical wards and operating theatre. She has practical experience in both the public and private sector.
Tracey undertook the LLB at Strathclyde University, graduating in 2005 and completing the Diploma in Legal Practice in 2006. She has also obtained an Ma(Hons) in Philosophy from Glasgow University, graduating in 1999 and an MPhil in Medical Law and Ethics from Glasgow University, graduating in 2005.
Tracey trained as a solicitor in general court practice, gaining experience in both civil and criminal law as well as in family matters. In 2009, she specialised in pursuing medical negligence claims, acting on behalf of individuals and families in cases against doctors, nurses, midwifes, GPs and dentists. Tracey has dealt with many types of different and complex cases involving failures in care, surgical error, delay in diagnosis, misdiagnosis and wrongful life. She has experience in dealing with high value, serious injury claims including fatalities and birth injuries including cases involving cerebral palsy and ERB’s Palsy. She has also represented families in Fatal Accident Inquiries.
